Disneyland Primeval World

Primeval World – Todd Freimiller

While visiting Disneyland the Disneyland Railroad is always a good way to take a trip around the park and take a few moments to take a break.  While on the ride it takes a trip back in time with Primeval World between Tomorrowland Station and Main Street Station.  While you are in Primeval World you get to see a number of dinosaurs including this Triceratops family.

Shooting from a moving Disney Train is always a fun challenge but Primeval World takes it to the next level because you are shooting from a moving train, through glass into a low light situation.  Many times people think that you need a high end low light camera which is actually not the case.  This shot was taken with a 3 generation old Canon 50D crop sensor DSLR with a non IS Sigma 18-55 2.8 lens.  The settings for this shot were a focal distance of 33mm, 1/80 sec shutter speed at F2.8, with a ISO of 6400.

No matter what gear you are using the best suggestion that I can give is learn the limitations of your equipment, take lots and lots of photos, and above all enjoy yourself.
