The Drop

The Drop – Garry Rollins

I’ve seen better captures of this scene on Flickr but here is my attempt. I found it challenging to properly expose the dark inside of the elevator cab with the bright sunlight outside while anticipating the sudden drop. I would have liked to get more sunset glow in the sky but after riding three consecutive drops in a row I was ready for a break. I love the anticipation of the drop in the raised arms. Taken at the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studio at WDW May 2014.

This photo was shot on a Canon 5DII using a 24-105L lens set at 24mm. The settings were f/5.6 with a shutter speed of 1/60 sec and ISO of 100

Post processing was done in Lightroom 5 and Dfine 2 noise reduction.

Thanks for looking – Garry Rollins
