Somewhere back in Time

Somewhere back in Time – Arthur Täysikuu

Every photographer knows that feeling. Most of the time, you will spend time (more or less) to create your photo, seeking your composition, thinking the light…And sometimes it happens that your picture is here, just in front of you.

Here, the fog welcomed me on the park few minutes sooner, I was going to Frontierland, to shoot Phantom Manor in the mist…I heard the horse on Central Plaza, I saw the family waiting, and my picture was just waiting for me to capture it.

I always loved the fog, and the scene above is the reason why, magic. The kind of magic that makes you travel in time and stories.

“As the day begins to fade away,
As the light slowly changes…
I’m going somewhere back in time,
Leaving the permanent summer,
I’m lost in the mists of a forgotten past.”

I really like this shot. It’s great when you can take advantage of the weather and capture something so special. I also loved your description. You really took us to your state of mind when you experienced this scene. Thanks for taking the time to share this excellent composition.

Altho it’s a photo of WDW, it truly takes me back to my childhood and all the emotions of being in the heart of Disneyland, with the air filled with the amazing smells of pastry’s and the musical sounds from the Disney shaped hedges…..

Fantastic moody shot Arthur! In a era where we are all searching for some vibrant eye popping photo the simplicity of this is amazing. (FYI, to the reply from Renee above, it’s DPL not WDW)
