Mine Train Morning – David Punch

Ok, so it’s not really an early sunrise. Just a playful edit of a shot that had some serious sunlight in it. While looking for a decent vantage point to shoot the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, I found a section of track that featured the castle in the background. The sun was setting and everything was taking on a dark look. In post I decided to go a different route.
To stop the train, I shot this one at 1/800th. ISO 320 and f/8 to try and get some sharpness. My lens for this one was the Canon 40mm pancake. It’s a great walk around lens because it’s so darn light. And the f/2.8 isn’t to shabby either.

I'm from New Orleans, LA. My full time job is as the Entertainment Director for the Cats Meow, a well known karaoke nightclub on Bourbon Street. As an entertainer myself, I gravitate towards creative outlets. I do graphic design, photography, I sing, and perform as a club and mobile DJ. As my photography business grows, I find myself booking more photo gigs and less DJ gigs. Which is great, because a camera bag is WAY easier to move than a trailer full of speakers and dance lights.
