Beast’s Castle, Be Our Guest – David Punch

I recently had the chance to meet up with some photography friends in WDW, for the sole purpose of shooting. Not on vacation, no family in tow, just friends and cameras. It was total blast. I met DDP Master Photographer Cliff Wang (sporting his well deserved pin on his camera strap) and a few others from this site. I was finally able to take my time and shoot some long exposure shots, which are pretty tough to get when you’re there on vacation.
For example, here we have the Beast’s castle, shot on a tripod for 30 seconds. ISO was 100 and aperture was f/6.3. It was shot moments before the Wishes fireworks show. The area is pretty dark, but with the long shutter and a little Lightroom magic, I was able to lighten things up to pull out the details in this capture.
I have a few more from that trip that I’ll be sharing on here as I get through the processing. And hopefully by my next trip to The World, I’ll be wearing that same pin 🙂

I'm from New Orleans, LA. My full time job is as the Entertainment Director for the Cats Meow, a well known karaoke nightclub on Bourbon Street. As an entertainer myself, I gravitate towards creative outlets. I do graphic design, photography, I sing, and perform as a club and mobile DJ. As my photography business grows, I find myself booking more photo gigs and less DJ gigs. Which is great, because a camera bag is WAY easier to move than a trailer full of speakers and dance lights.
