One Year Anniversary – Red Fireworks – Norm Lanier

Believe it or not today is the one year anniversary of Daily Disney Photo. Many of you may not know is that DDP had a predecessor. Before DDP I developed an app for the iPhone called Magic365. I had a great group of photographers (the 1st 16 Disney Master Photographers) that contributed along with myself for a new image every day. While it was a great experiment it had issues. I’m not a programmer so when the app had issues or Apple came out with a new OS things broke. Also the other issue was only people with iPhones or iPads could see it. Thinking about those issues I said to myself KISS. Launching DDP as a web site let me maintain it. Everybody that had access to it and it allowed a two way conversation. Daily Disney Photo was born.

The mission for DDP has always been to give the best Disney Park Photographers a place to showcase their work. This year’s over-achiever award (not a real award) goes to Joanie Eddis-Koch. Joanie contributed 37 photos in the last year. Basically one photo every 10 days. Congrats to the 10 photographers that earned the designation of Disney Master Photographer. Thanks to everyone that contributed to DDP. over the last year. You made the site what it is.

Lastly my first post to DDP was the castle at Disneyland. I thought it only appropriate to have the castle from WDW with a few fireworks thrown in to celebrate the anniversary. Enjoy!
