Mine Train - Sean Spansel

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Sean Spansel

During our trip in 2014, the Mine Train began soft opening a few days after our trip ended, which was a major bummer.  I went into our trip in 2015 definitely ready to ride and shoot the newest attraction in Fantasyland.  While walking past Be Our Guest Restaurant, I noticed a wonderful glowing sky behind the mountain.  Using my newly purchased 12mm Fisheye and it’s ability to easily be shot at 1/10th of a second handheld, I went to shooting.  I think the curvature of the track, along with curvature of the lens, makes a pleasing image.  The first few shots were of the mountain alone, a train coming down, etc, but nothing stood out to me.  Then I decided to drag the shutter a little and give the train some motion and here’s the image that came from it.

This image is my first and ONLY explored image on Flickr, so it holds a special place in my “portfolio.”  I hope you enjoy it, as much as I have.

My name is Sean and have been shooting for a little over 5 years, since 2010. I'm what you would call a Disney fanatic, borderline addict. Ok, I am an addict. Mix my hobby with my addiction and this is what you get, a Disney Photographer (or so I'd like to think I am, even though I live 653 miles away). I wish I could get to the parks more often, but living in New Orleans, it's not always that easy.
