Grizzly Peak

Grizzly Peak Waterfall – Chris Marquez

I realized during this trip that I’ve never taken a photo of the waterfalls at Grizzly Peak. That needed to change!

I used an ND filter for this shot and attached my camera to just a ballhead – no tripod legs. Using just the ballhead helped me place the camera further out (past the railing and rock wall) to get a clearer view of the waterfall. I had one hand on the camera and the other hand on the ballhead keeping it steady for this 15 second exposure. My whole body was up against the rock wall to the right of the waterfall and I’m sure I was getting funny looks from people passing by. Especially since I was taking multiple long exposures. I didn’t mind though. Like I was told recently, “If people aren’t looking at you funny while taking a photo, then you’re not doing it right.”

On a side note, this is my first post for 2015. Happy New Year, everyone!

A husband and father of two from Hawaii that enjoys photography (especially in the Disney Parks!) You can also check out a few of my other photos on my Flickr page. Aloha.
