Halloween Main street 10 24 13

Halloween lighting on Main Street during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parade ~ Joanie Eddis-Koch

If you’ll notice, this shot is angled upwards slightly so I could cut off the heads of the thundering herds moving around Main Street right before the Halloween parade started. The lighting used on the building facades during this event is really outstanding. The colors change depending on what characters are appearing at  that moment during the parade. My Nikon D4 was set to to 1/125th of a second and the ISO was set to 3200. The metering mode was set to matrix and the f stop was set to 2.8. I was using my Nikon 24-70mm lens which was zoomed in to 58mm. If you are going to try for this shot you’ll need to be watchful of the cycle of lights that are used and wait for this combination to appear.I’m thinking I used a tripod because it could take a while for the lighting to cycle through all of it’s phases.
