A Touch of Italy – Norm Lanier

This is one of those shots that never would have happened without being inspired by others. Before my last trip to WDW I saw a picture that was done near this location. Honestly I’m not sure I would have even noticed this little spot while visiting Epcot without seeing a shot on flickr that someone had done. Sadly I’m not sure exactly who’s shot it was otherwise I would give them credit.

I believe photos should inspire people and if any of my works inspire someone to try a similar shot I’m thrilled. Even if another photographer stood in exactly the same spot their shot would be different. The weather, their exposure, their lens, how they process it would yield a slightly different photo. And that’s the beauty of photography, they are like snow flakes. All slightly different and unique.

Great shot Norm! I have tried this one a few times but always bail on it when I’m back processing because of the boat blur.

  Judd I have mixed emotions about the boat movement. I think it would be an awesome shot if they didn’t move. On the other hand since everything else is rock solid it let’s you know those are real boats that aren’t cemented to the bottom of the lake.

    That is true. I do remember thinking that it is cool that they are real. Great point! Sometimes I think we strive to make things absolutely perfect in the pictures when sometimes the little details like the boat movement is what makes it special.
