Night Falls on the Forbidden Mountain- Caleb Ruckel

This photo was made possible by all of the stars aligning one evening while I was working at Animal Kingdom. The attraction that I work had been having issues all day because of the rain and the colder weather, so management decided that they would give a few of us cast members early releases. I quickly volunteered because the park was open until 8 for the first time in months and with all of the rain, I knew that there would be some beautiful reflections on the pavement.

I clocked out at 7 and ran to my car to change and grab my camera so that Andy (WDWShutterbug) and I could spend the last hour taking photos in the nearly empty park. After struggling to find anything spectacular to shoot in the other lands, I met Andy in front of Expedition Everest where we photographed the area for a few minutes. This part of Asia is beautiful at night so I spent more time marveling at the theming than I did taking photos. After we left, I realized that this was the only shot that I’d taken but I must say that I’m very happy with it.

This was shot using a Canon 5D Mkii and the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8.
