“You’ve just crossed over into . . . The Twilight Zone” – Caleb Ruckel
Before talking about this photo, I’d like to give credit to Michael Greening on Flickr who took a photo very similar photo at Disneyland that inspired me to take this shot and also to Starbucks for making their pumpkin spice lattes which are what got me through the 4 hours of waiting required to make this photo.
For this shot, I set up on the end of Main Street with my 20 ounce pumpkin spice latte and prepared to wait through all of the Main Street Electrical Parade, Celebrate the Magic, Wishes, and then the clearing of the park. During this time, I was mistaken for Photopass about six times, I received numerous dirty looks from people who wanted my spot, and confused looks from cast members who couldn’t understand why I’d guard my camera in the same spot for four hours. The final shot is a combination of 5 exposures of empty Main Street along with a single shot from the Sorcerer’s Apprentice section of Wishes and, although it was a long process, I had a lot of fun making the end photo and I hope that y’all enjoy it!
